MURFILL
The recommended coating for new buildings is Murfill. This is a standard exterior coating that has built-in elasticity. The benefit of the elasticity is that the coating can stretch and move with any settling or structural movement that occurs in the building over the first number of years. This prevents the coating for cracking or flaking over areas where micro-cracking will occur. The product also gives 100% waterproofing.
Product characteristics:
- Decorative satin-matt finish
- Guaranteed waterproofing
- Water vapour permeable (allows the wall to breathe)
- Excellent resistance to ageing
- Protects reinforced concrete against carbonation
- 100% waterproofing guaranteed
- Allows for occurrence of micro-cracking (400% elasticity)
- UV and chemical resistant
- Prolongs the lifetime of the building

Paint Paddle
A paint paddle is a vitally important tool when it comes to mixing two-pack paints. A two pack paint is any paint that comes in two parts: a base and an activator. Unlike single pack paints, your two-pack paint dries by a chemical reaction between the base and the hardener. It is important that every part of the base mixes with some activator. If you have some base that isn’t in contact with any activator then the paint may not dry or harden, nor will it give the desired gloss.
This is where your paint paddle / paint stirrer comes in. Attach the paint paddle to the end of a standard household drill. Stir the base at a slow speed. Slowly begin to add your hardener (activator). Stir the base and hardener at a slow speed for approximately 4 minutes (this time varies depending on what type of paint you are mixing). Do not mix the products too fast as they will heat up and they will cure too quickly. For mixing ratios and other application and preparation details please see the data sheet of the specific product that you are using.
